Overview
BillCheck is an AI-powered tool that helps you understand and review your medical bills. We are committed to handling any information you share with us responsibly. This policy explains what we collect, what we do not collect, and how we operate.
What we do not store
We do not store the contents of any medical bill, EOB, or health-related document you submit. Your bill text is passed directly to our AI analysis system, a result is returned to you, and the content is discarded. Nothing is written to a database. Nothing is retained after your session ends.
What information to share
We only need billing details to do our job - CPT codes, line items, dates of service, and dollar amounts. Do not include your name, Social Security number, date of birth, or any other personal identifiers. The less personal information you share, the better.
What we do collect
Payment information is processed securely by Stripe - we never see or store your card details. Your email address may be collected via Stripe checkout and used only to send your payment receipt. Basic anonymous page visit data may be collected via Vercel with no personal identifiers.
How your bill is processed
When you submit a bill, the text is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our server, then passed to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis. Anthropic processes the request under a zero data retention policy, meaning they do not store or train on your submitted content. The result is returned to you and the input is discarded.
Third party services
Stripe handles all payment processing and is subject to Stripe's privacy policy. Anthropic provides AI analysis under zero data retention. Vercel hosts the application and is subject to Vercel's privacy policy.
HIPAA notice
BillCheck is not a HIPAA covered entity and does not operate as a business associate of any healthcare provider or insurer. You are voluntarily sharing your own billing information with a consumer tool you control. We strongly recommend you do not include any personal identifiers when submitting bill details.
Data security
All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. We do not maintain databases of patient or billing information. Our architecture is designed to minimize data exposure by processing requests in memory only.
Children
BillCheck is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page.
